Candlelight Vigil

December 21st is the longest night of the year. Night is the hardest part of the day for the homeless. At night, the homeless have a larger chance of becoming victims of theft or abuse.

Join us for the longest night of the year as we remember those we have lost and remember the ongoing struggles of those homeless who continue to sleep on the streets at this annual candlelight vigil.

Hope for the Homeless 2024

Join us for an unforgettable evening of compassion, community, and transformation at Gospel, Inc.'s fall fundraiser, "Hope for the Homeless 2024."

This inspiring event aims to raise crucial funds to support the chronically homeless in Lakeland, Florida, and we need your help to make a difference.

You will hear testimonies from residents, volunteers, staff, and board members that will give you a view of how the permanent community model known as Gospel Village effectively ends homelessness for those who suffer from chronic homelessness.

Gospel Village offers the only community-based approach to ending homelessness in Lakeland.

Our community model provides a safe and secure home, which is the first step in ending the roller coaster of emotions that someone living on the streets experiences on a daily basis. Our community of support works with medical and mental health providers to link residents with much-needed and often neglected medical and mental health treatment that contributes to the “whole person” approach to alleviating the stress associated with housing insecurity.

We believe in the dignity of contribution and work. At Gospel Village, we believe that work opportunities and the ability to pay ones own way, instill dignity and lift the self-worth of those living in our community. The dignity that comes from work is deeply rooted in biblical principles, highlighting the intrinsic value and purpose of labor in human life. God Himself is depicted as a worker, fashioning the heavens and the earth, and then creating humanity in His own image. This act of creation endows work with a divine significance, suggesting that engaging in meaningful labor is a reflection of God's creative nature. Work is portrayed as a sacred endeavor that brings dignity and purpose, aligning human efforts with God's grand design and fostering a sense of fulfillment and honor in contributing to the greater good we find reflected in our community.
